Binh's paintings are always full of emotion, he shows his talent in every detail and in the ability to harmonize simple colors expressively, of which the white color often plays the leading role. He is well known for his works depicting female figures wearing the white Ao Dai dress. His landscape paintings touch viewers by the simplified landscape, deep colors and light sadness. He prefers simplicity in layout, the conciseness in depiction, no appearance of many figures and colors in the paintings.

Nguyen Thanh Binh: The Romantic Guy

Attending the opening ceremony of a northern colleague in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Thanh Binh wore honeycomb slippers with old shorts and T-shirt, shyly smiled and talked, was the right kind of person who did not want to join the crowding. Seeming to have removed all entangled ties, sparkling makeup accessories for showing off and all kinds of ordinary formality, artist Nguyen Thanh Binh is living with the spirit of 'what belonging to human is no stranger to me’. He has calmly painted and worked with the productivity of a true tenant nurtured in the inspiration of an artist, though not intentional but still naturally given the mission of tolerance, kindness...

Nguyen Thanh Binh Short Introduction

Artist Nguyen Thanh Binh is a special person with a special style, and a simple, open-minded and sincere personality. He is one of the few best-selling Vietnamese painters with more than 40 years of painting and thousands of works collected.

Binh's paintings are always full of emotion, he shows his talent in every detail and in the ability to harmonise simple colors expressively, of which the white color often plays the leading role. The art critic Thai Ba Van once commented: 'The white color of Nguyen Thanh Binh seems out of the real life which is noisy and harsh. The image of Nguyen Thanh Binh's painting is not leaning to the objective world but introverted. There is a bit of Eastern breath'.

Nguyen Thanh Binh Short Introduction

Life

Still remember, the miserable but pure childhood passed gently, and then the hard and heroic youth also retreated to the past. And now, the strenuous and passionate middle age slowly put us on the threshold of old age.

It is said that ‘Bad soil produces sweet fruits. But it must be a powerful tree, with a desire for life and a need for luck.

Binh's painting is that kind of fruits. At first glance, his paintings are as gentle as if the artist has lived a life full of love. Looking carefully at the paintings, viewers can realize that artist try his best to release life emotions for himself and for everyone.

“In life, whoever can transform a fragile, ephemeral aspect of human emotion into immortality, that person is an artist’

The inspiration for the Ballerina theme ... originated from the times when he took his daughter to the dance class 'Little Stars' by Dang Hung - Vuong Linh and the excellent teacher Kim Dung nearly 10 years ago...

Like as music, traditional and classical values are the eternal roots of all creative tendencies, like as the great tree, the art sprouts many branches, boughs, rises to the sky from the ground...

Deep And Silent Space Nguyen Thanh Binh

Deep and silent…the space in Nguyen Thanh Binh’s works is etherealized. Persons and things – visual
objects – are detached from their ‘context’ and repositioned in a dreamland without perspectives and
horizons. On this background of illusory reality, colours are reduced into white or yellowish patches, and
the black contours of a girl’s hair often appear in only a few strokes of the brush.

The dissolution ofthings into the background space rends the work similar to ‘a vocal harmony’, sparsely marked by the acute redness of an apple or candlelight as points of emphasis. The light, as if obstructed by translucent
glass, is diffused over the whole composition. Nguyen Thanh Binh describes this characteristic of his
paintings. To make whiteness, which is basically not a colour, capable of all gradations, vibrate into
infinity, and to make flat and monotonous space immense or bottomless in the imagination of viewers…’
